DO YOU NEED TO COME SEE THE CARPETS IN MY HOME TO PROVIDE A QUOTE?
Due to the average job cost and the number of inquiries we receive we are not able to perform in person quotes for residential jobs. We do our best to provide the most accurate estimates possible, but they depend on the accuracy and completeness of the information provided by the customer.
DO YOU OFFER A DEEP CARPET CLEANING?
We have selected the equipment and tooling that we believe is the most effective and efficient at removing as much soil content as possible from the carpet.
DO YOU DO "SMALL" JOBS?
We are happy to perform small jobs. The cost of doing a small job will depend upon the distance we have to travel. Even though the job may be small we need to consider travel time, gas, tolls, and the time to set up and pick up from the job.
DO YOU MOVE FURNITURE?
Our prices for carpet cleaning are based on cleaning a room free of all furniture. We can move furniture if requested. Small items may not incur any charge but larger furniture will.
DO YOU NEED TO USE MY WATER OR SEWER?
Our van is equipped with a fresh water tank and recovery tank so there is no need to use the water or sewer in your home. In rare cases we may need to hook up a garden hose if the water has run low, but it is very uncommon.
DO YOU WORK WEEKENDS?
We typically do not work weekends. If a weekend is the only option we charge a premium to cover the cost of the increased rate we pay our technicians on the weekends.
DO YOU RE-STRETCH CARPETS?
We do not. However, we are still able to clean the carpets if they have wrinkles.
DO I HAVE TO BE HOME WHILE THE WORK IS BEING DONE?
Ideally the customer is present to discuss any concerns or answer any questions the technicians may have, but we are happy to do the job with instructions on how to enter the home.
DO I HAVE TO MOVE ALL THE FURNITURE OUT OF THE ROOMS?
Most customers will pick up personal items and move small furniture off the carpet. You do not have to empty the room but you can if you want to. Our tools are designed to reach under beds up to 18".
DO SPOTS EVER RE-APPEAR AFTER THE CARPETS DRY?
Spills and extreme soiling can enter the backing of the carpet and wick to the surface of the carpet during drying. We take steps to prevent this but we are happy to come back to touch up an area if contacted within a couple days of the job.
DO YOUR CLEANING PRODUCTS LEAVE A SCENT?
Our detergents are formulated to leave a fresh, clean scent which dissipates over a few days.
DO PEOPLE USUALLY TIP THE TECHNICIANS?
Tips are common and appreciated but are by no means expected or required for quality service.
DOES A ROOM WITH FURNITURE COST LESS TO CLEAN THAN AN EMPTY ROOM?
Cleaning a room with furniture can be tedious and time consuming. Due to the added level of detail work and care not to damage any property we charge the same amount as an empty room.
SHOULD I VACUUM THE CARPETS BEFORE YOU ARRIVE?
It is recommended that you vacuum the carpets the day before or the day of. If there is a lot of debris on the carpets which may clog our tools we may need to pre-vacuum for an additional fee.
ARE YOU ABLE TO CLEAN CARPETS ON THE THIRD OR FOURTH FLOOR?
If parking is close by it is generally not an issue.
ARE YOUR CLEANING PRODUCTS SAFE FOR CHILDREN AND PETS?
Our detergents are non-toxic, biodegradable and water-based. There should be no issues for your family.
WHAT TYPE OF CARPET CLEANING PROCESS DO YOU USE?
We use a hot water extraction process which is commonly referred to steam cleaning due to the steam like appearance of the high pressure spray around the working end of the wand.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept check, cash or credit card. Payment for residential jobs is accepted upon completion.
HOW LONG WILL THE JOB TAKE?
Most residential jobs take 1-2 hours to complete with two technicians.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR THE CARPETS TO DRY?
Berber carpets and wool rugs tend to take longer but generally your carpets and rugs will dry in about 24 hours.
HOW SOON CAN I MOVE MY FURNITURE BACK ONTO THE CARPET?
You will want to wait until the carpet is completely dry. Metal can leave a rust stain and wood can transfer the finish onto the wet carpet. We can leave you a few Styrofoam blocks if you are unable to wait.
HOW SOON CAN YOU FIT ME INTO THE SCHEDULE?
Lead times vary during the year. Winter months are slower, while April through November can get very busy. We can generally fit you into the schedule within a week but sometimes sooner if there is a cancellation or request to reschedule.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY CARPETS CLEANED?
It is generally advisable to professionally clean your carpets every year and may be a condition to maintain the warrantee from the manufacturer.
WILL I BE ABLE TO WALK ON THE CARPET BEFORE IT DRIES?
Ideally you would not walk on the carpet before it dries but most people will for one reason or another. It is important to make sure your feet, socks or shoes are clean and to be aware of slip hazards when stepping onto hard surfaces.
WILL CLEANING MY CARPETS ELIMINATE ALL ODOR FROM DOG OR CAT URINE?
Urine can make its way into the backing of the carpet, pad and even the subfloor. Carpet cleaning cleans the pile or top of the carpet. For this reason we can not guarantee that all odor will be eliminated.
WILL CLEANING THE CARPETS FIX MATTED AREAS OR IMPRESSIONS FROM FURNITURE?
It may improve the situation slightly but our process isn't designed to fix these issues.
CAN I DROP OF MY RUG TO BE CLEANED?
We do not offer off site cleaning of rugs. If we think your rug needs to be cleaned off site we will refer your to a local provider.
CAN MY RUGS BE CLEANED ON MY HARDWOOD FLOOR?
If the rug is thick enough and/or it is on a rug pad there should be no issue. Only the surface of the rug should be wet after cleaning in your home.
WHY DOES IT COST MORE TO CLEAN WOOL RUGS?
We have to make several changes to the system including changing temperatures, pressures, detergents and purging water lines, and we have to make twice as many cleaning passes.
